New to TTDC’s online dance classes? Here are a list of FAQ’s to get you all set up before taking class. As always, please email the studio if you have any questions at all!
What Software is Needed? All of our classes ate taught via zoom. If you have not, please download Zoom in advance of class: Download Zoom Here
How will I get my Zoom Link/Access Details? The link and class invite will be sent via email from www.hisawyer.com 30 minutes in advance of class each week. All classes are taught in PST. If you do not get the invite, please contact the studio and we would be happy to help you.
What does my dancer need to wear? We are very flexible about attire for online classes- as long as you can move freely, it’s fine by us! However, we know that getting dressed up for dance class is part of the fun! A leotard and tights are suggested for ballet and tap classes, for all other classes a leotard/tights or leggings and a tank top work great.
Recommended Shoes: Ballet classes: barefoot or ballet shoes. Tap classes: tap or hard-soled shoes,. Jazz/Lyrical/Musical Theatre: jazz or ballet shoes. Hip Hop: tennis shoes.
Note for Tap Class: If you have a sheet of plywood handy or other hard surface you don’t mind getting a little beat up, that works great. Garages and outdoor spaces with smooth concrete are great for sound but can be slippery so please be careful. Otherwise, you can dance in sneakers as to not do any damage to the floors at home. We also recommend Dot 2 Dance or other portable dance floors for dancers ages 7+ taking multiple classes per week. if that fits into your family’s budget.
Note for Ballet Class: Ballet level 1 and up- if you can get some sort of portable barre surface that is close to your dancer’s hip height, that would be ideal. Backs of chairs, kitchen countertops and ironing boards all work great!
